"When I begin to work on a piece, I have no idea who will appear.  It is as if I am able to bring life to an individual who is expressing themselves through me.   My paintings are extensions of my own experiences with the world as a woman, the place we hold in history, and the accomplishments we have achieved."

- Carole Siegel, Artist

Siegel's paintings often depict women, but it would be wrong to simply describe Siegel as a portrait artist.  She is a painter who creates the mood and emotion of the image by the use of color, shape, line and texture capturing the true essence of the piece.  The paintings are from the heart as well as a window into herself.

Remarkably, Siegel has had no formal training as an artist.  This has not been a drawback.  If anything it has allowed her to find her own way as a painter and to do work that is truly of her own creation.  In talking about why she paints, Siegel says it is a way to give back, inspire women to nurture themselves, and follow their passions.
